Ar. Jeannie Lou Ilagan Ombania, UAP
Ar. Jeannie Ombania graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Architecture from the University of the Philippines in 2004 with distinction as Presidential Scholar.
Her two-year apprenticeship that followed were spent in various fields focusing on corporate office projects, furniture design, and mixed-use high-rise project design for Philippines, India and China-based projects.
On 2006, she acquired her professional accreditation as an Architect, bagging the 4th place, making her the sole female top notcher in her batch’s national licensure exam. As a licensed architect, she had the privilege of designing with one of BCI Asia’s top firms' projects of diverse typologies such as commercial, residential and industrial developments. Another award followed when she made it to 9th place in the Master Plumbing licensure exam 2008, just before pursuing a career abroad.
In the UAE, she worked as an architect with the general contractor arm of the award-winning Downtown Jebel Ali Building and Landscaping development. She joined Cassia’s Landscaping, Urban Design and Planning studio in 2010 and worked on upscale Abu Dhabi & Egypt urban development projects.
After a sabbatical for the birth of her daughter, she worked as a Senior Architect for Design IEC. During this time, the projects she handled won Best in Public Service Architecture for the International Property Awards and Best in Office Architecture for the Arabian Property Awards.
She opened JI Design Studio, her own Philippine architecture and graphic design studio in 2015.
